Natural Aftershave

Something especially for the men today. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make your own home-made aftershave? Ok, maybe not – but here’s a simple recipe you could try your hands at this weekend.

One of the ingredients is Vodka and I’m hoping the reason for buying this little bottle of Vodka should be solely for the purpose of making this Aftershave. Promise?

The ingredients you’ll need are:
1 ½ Tablespoon of Pure Vodka
8 drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil
3 drops of Neroli Essential Oil
6 ½ Tablespoons of Rose Water
4 Tablespoons of Witch Hazel

Vodka has special healing properties in it. It’s a good disinfectant. It’s helps combat pimples associated with shaving and it’s also a good treatment for infected boils.

Sandalwood has been in use for over 6,000 years. Its oil is warm, soothing and relaxing. A few of its health benefits are that it’s anti-septic, anti-inflammatory and is a very good astringent and emollient. Neroli Oil has similar properties too.

Witch Hazel’s astringent, anti-viral, anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties make it a good treatment for cuts & bruises and itchy and irritated skin.

Rose Water has soothing, deep cleansing, and skin toning properties. It also tightens the pores and reduces wrinkles. Ensure you use pure Rose Water which can be found in most pharmacies.

To make the Aftershave, get a glass bottle of about 200ml in size and pour in the Vodka. Add the Essential oils and shake well.

Next add the Witch Hazel. Shake well and then add the Rose Water and shake again. Always remember to shake well before use.

And there you have it. Your own home-made Aftershave. These amazing ingredients should get your skin looking a million dollars this weekend!

Have a lovely one.
