Natural Collagen Building Face Mask

Collagen is the most abundant natural protein found in the body. It makes up at least 75% of the body’s skin tissue. It could also be described as the skins building blocks and is important for overall health of the skin. The body’s collagen levels have been said to slowly diminish from the age of 25 onwards.

The presence of Collagen helps to plump up the skin, reduces lines, wrinkles and generally improves the skin’s elasticity. The resultant effect being younger looking radiant skin.

The best way to restore collagen levels in the skin is by naturally helping the skins ability to produce its own collagen. Collagen could be applied topically, but apart from the great expense, sometimes the molecules of the topical Collagen could be too large for the skin to absorb.

Nature has however blessed us with not only natural but edible substances that the skin can very easily absorb and that would also heal the skin and stimulate the skins process of producing its own collagen.
I specially hand-make for my clients an Anti-wrinkle, Collagen Building Face mask which if used diligently could help your skin produce its own Collagen while you watch your skin slowly defy time and age!

Excercise Your Way to Younger Skin!

I've been doing a lot of walking this week. Not by choice, but it’s been fantastic! I feel a lot lighter (don’t ask why!) and more energetic.

There’s no doubt that exercise does wonders for our body. That has been proven time and time again, so I don’t need to mention any studies that have been carried out in this regard.
The exciting thing also is that when you exercise, the body’s circulation is increased. This goes a long way to improve the appearance of the skin, giving the skin a nice glow.
It also encourages detoxification in the body flushing out toxins especially when you sweat.
Through all this, there is also a process of cell renewal going on. I don’t know about yours, but cell renewal means rejuvenation in my books!
So this weekend, don’t stay indoors, have a nice walk about, walk to shops instead of driving,  have a run in the park and have a really vibrant weekend!

Herbal Spa Treat at Home

It's really hot where I am today. Going through a work week in this heat would be really tiring. Thankfully there's  the weekend to look forward to and a chance to slow down and spoil yourself a little when no one's looking! There really shouldn't be any excuse not to give yourself a little spa treat and have a soak in the bath this weekend. You've earned it!

There’s nothing quite like the pleasure of a long warm unwinding soak after a really tiring week.
This weekend have a Herbal Bath to soothe those tired muscles. Pop into your local Natural Health shop and  pick up some herbs. If you can't get any, some Chamomile teabags will do just fine!
Put 50g (combined measurement) of dried chamomile, comfrey and marigold into a jug.  Pour in a pint (600ml) of boiling water and leave to infuse for 30mins.
Chamomile helps to soothe the muscles and softens the skin. Comfrey and Marigold both have great healing agents.

Strain the infusion through a sieve and pour into your bath water. Put in a few drops of Lavender oil. Lavender is very relaxing and helps to soothe headaches.
A quick handy tip; do not add soap to your bath as this will coat your skin not allowing the herbs to penetrate.

Now light the candles, get a nice book and step into your well deserved treat. (Please don’t fall asleep!)
Have a relaxing weekend!
