It will be Christmas this weekend, so your skincare
‘treasure chests’ (your fridges and kitchen cupboards), will be filled with a few more goodies which you could use for a few new treats for your skin! This weekend, let’s make a refreshing,anti-ageing, skin tightening Cranberry & Ganoderma Green Tea Face Mask. If cranberries are not on your shopping list, send me a message on’ Nayture’s Place on Facebook with a few items on your Christmas grocery list and we can whip up a treat for your skin too!
Used topically, Cranberries are rich in Vitamin C
which helps to build the skins, natural collagen keeping the skin healthy and wrinkle free. They are also rich in Vitamin B3 which is very effective in treating acne and Vitamin B5 which helps increase the skins moisture content.
Taken internally, Cranberries are rich in Vitamin C and dietary fibre.
They also help prevent bladder and urinary tract infections, lower bad cholesterol, fight colds and help prevent stomach ulcers and cancer. They also help emulsify fat deposits in the body - handy after Christmas meals!
And for your Ganoderma Green Tea, Ganoderma is an ancient Chinese red
mushroom that for thousands of years was given to the Emperors for longevity.
It was popularly known as “The Elixir of Youth” or “The Immortality Herb”!
Green Tea is popularly known for its anti-ageing properties. It contains
Polyphenols
which go through your blood stream to your skin and help slow down
the signs of ageing
For this special Christmas recipe, you’ll simply need:
1 cup of Fresh Cranberries
2 Ganoderma Green Tea Bags
2 cups of water
Boil the cranberries in the water for 20 minutes and then add the
Ganoderma Green Tea Bags.
After this has cooled down a bit, take the tea bags out and use a
fork to crush the cranberries
to a pulp. Gently rub the cooled pulp on clean skin and leave on
for 15 to 20 minutes.
Wipe off with a damp face cloth.
Leftovers can be kept in the fridge and used again.
Enjoy the Christmas and have a lovely weekend!

Cranberry Christmas Treat For Your Skin!
Monday, 5 December 2011
Water… for healthy Skin
Water is vital for life. It dissolves most solvents and cleanses the body of toxins from the inside out. A regular flushing of the body’s system with clean water leaves the skin feeling and looking younger and fresher.
So why do we find it so hard to make drinking a lot of water a habit? Is it because we don’t pay dearly enough for it and therefore don’t think much of its value?
Forget all the skin care tips, nothing will improve the quality of your skin better and inexpensively as water! Water moisturises your skin from the inside out.
Apart from waters benefit to your skin, studies have shown that (see American Journal of Epidemiology May 1st 2002 155(9):827-33.) people who drank more than five glasses of water a day were about 40% less likely to die from a heart attack that than those who drank less than two glasses a day.
And to keep it from getting boring, you can flavour your water with a dash of freshly squeezed lemon juice – the thing really is to keep drinking and make a habit of it!
This weekend, let’s make the most of water. After you’ve washed your face, give your skin a good steam.
You’ll need a bowl of hot water with a few drops of Lavender Oil. Lean over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. Do this for a few minutes and gently dab your face dry.
This helps to open up your pores and also hydrates your skin. Your skin is now ready for whatever nourishment you feed it with. Moisturise your skin as normal and then sit down and enjoy a tall glass of water – one of your eight for the day!
Have a lovely weekend.
Emma
