If skincare products were edible, then animal testing would not be necessary. True or false? If we could ‘eat’ these products, then what’s there to test? Calorie content? I reckon that Skincare products are tested to find out what negative effect the products could have on animals (to prevent this happening to humans); and not to find out if the poor rabbits wrinkles will disappear after a few weeks of application of the ‘Wonder Cream’!
I don’t have any pets and I don’t lay claims to being involved in any animal rights activities - I’m just simply talking ‘Edible Skincare’. Why infuse a Skin Lotion with chemicals when it can be infused with Nature’s bounty?
It’s about time we took as much control over what we put on our skin as we do what we eat. So, as you shop for healthy ingredients to make your food at home, do the same for your skin. If we don’t start taking control now, there will come a time when it will be too late to repair the damage done by the toxins we’ve slowly put into our bodies. As we strive to keep to our ‘five a day’ fruits and vegetables, please make the same effort for your skin, otherwise we may very well be fighting a losing battle however much fruit and veg we consume.
The first step towards taking control is by learning how to make simple products for your skin. Nothing expensive or time consuming – just simple products that will do what Nature put them there to do for you.
Go through our past Newsletters and actually make the effort to try out some of the simple recipes. Better still, Naytures Place runs a series of ‘Good Enough To Eat’ Skincare Products Workshops and Parties where you can learn to make your skincare products at home.
